How can you tell if your radiator needs to be replaced. Is it okay to have a little corrosion? The plastic is brittle on my radiator, should I take immediate attention and replace this?

Yes. I drove the LFA.

By corrosion, what do you mean, and where? Also, what do you mean by brittle? If you had a picture, it might help. If the end tanks are beginning to seep, as you say with corrosion, it might be time to start looking for a replacement before it starts to leak. But without seeing it, i cant give you any solid advice.

Address it with a performance mod...Fluidyne makes some nice aluminium performance radiators.

if your radiator is "weeping" I would replace it. that means its likely clogged and the pressure is going to start blowing seals on the engine (I.E. waterpump, headgasket, etc) and the rest of the radiator.

although I agree with the replacement, I can't sign on for the reasoning... irregardless of the restriction in the radiator, the coolant system will never get over 14 psi or so (depending on model of car) unless the radiator cap is not working properly... the cap is designed to vent once 14 psi is reached, so, irregardless of clog in the radiator, it will still vent at 14 psi... (unless the car was designed for a higher pressure, and some are, but I think the Toyota/Lexus are 14)
