they will make you a key probably for 140 or more
your key is chipped if its new. if its old you can find a locksmith that cuts lexus keys i got mine made for $20 including the key no chip no fob programing.

95 ES300's came with a built in remote in the key, did they not?? single button on the side??

a locksmith can make you a new key, however, the best ones are ordered from the dealer... some dealers make the keys there themselves...

My friend's '99 ES300 has the electronics on a separate fob. I don't think the ES300 went to an integrated remote in the key until the 2002 model year. I recently purchased a remote control fob for my friend with the '99 ES300, with programming instructions, on eBay for less than $50.

I'd buy an appropriate OEM Lexus key blank on eBay, after you find a local locksmith that can duplicate Lexus keys. I've read on the CL forums that Lexus uses Sidewinder keys.

Another possible route is to try some of the Lexus dealers who sponsor this forum (and discount). They should be able to produce a duplicate key from the vehicle number.

You can get a pair of keys already cut to your car's VIN number for $99.95 from http://www.sparecarkeys.com. there is no programming necessary.

I actually bought a key from ebay with the remote and transponder for like $65, got it cut for $25, and did the onboard programming myself and it works like a charm.
