How to change the transmission fluid on the GS350.
Hi,
I need your help to drain and refill the trans fluid on the 2007 GS350. This car model year (new version of GS) doesn't have a trans dipstick and I couldn't locate the trans pan either. I did a lot of Lexus before but this one is supprised me. I understand that the car doesn't require to change this fluid for a long time. However, it's good to know DIY.
I currently have 50K miles on the car now. I think it may be good to change the fluid now just to have a peace of mind in a long run. I don't like the ideal that Lexus recommends 100K miles or no need to change for the life of the car...... This is exactly what the Lexus manual stated.
Any helps or suggestions would be very appreciated.
Thank you very much,
Dh.

I remember seeing something awhile back, and it involved attach some hoses and also need a Lexus scantool to run the program to change the fluid. But my memory is faulty so this is just pretty hazy.
Didn't seem like a DIY especially since it required a scantool.

DDGS350, i just replied to your PM. It's not the DIY kinda thing for most of us.
You need a scan tool to watch the trans fluid temp. to reach 113-130 degree. The car need to sit overnight to cool off and then start up, let it idle until the fluid reach 113 degree.
An adapter to go into the refill hole is needed, plus you have to find the filler hole first.
Take it to the shop or dealer that know what they are doing. This way if they mess up you don't have to pay for the tranny.

go into the 3rd generation gs350 forum. There is a DIY in there. It is a little tedious but not that big of deal. I did my wife's back at 80k and it now has 115k on it. I ran 13 quarts through then did the top off procedure by jumpering the 4 and 13 pin on the OBD connector. The DIY goes into that.
