Lexus Servicing Question
Hey Guys, I am not an owner of the GS model Lexus, but the owner of the LX 470 (to be delivered 11/9/01 - Whoopee!!). My dealer is 140 miles away and I was wondering that when it needs to be serviced, i.e. lube, oil, filter, can I take it to a Toyota dealership? If there is warranty work, I know to take it to Lexus, just didn't want to drive a 280 mile round trip for an oil change.
Anyone know what Lexus thinks of this? I didn't ask at the dealership, so thought I would ask this knowledgable group.
Thanks, Phil

It really doesn't matter as long as you maintain good maintenance records/documentation you should be fine. My preference would be to go to Toyota also if Lexus is too much of a hardship to get to.

Hey Phil,
do you have a local tech guy that you can trust?
if so, just get the filter from steve at carson toyota at a discount, or get the mobil 1 filter(one of the best), and go to the tech guy for a simple oil change. as johnny said, just keep all your receipts.

When I owned a 96 ES, I took it to a Toyota dealership for almost all of my services. I would call one first though to see if there are any catches with the truck.
