strut change
ok i'd like to save myself from spending $500 for labor involved with swapping in new struts. i figure i can do it myself. the car is a 1990 lexus es250.
i'm looking for instructions and a list of tools required. much appreciated.

If you don't have the tools or expertise, this task may hurt you ...
You'll need a spring compressor, help from an assistant, access to a lift

thanks tammy. i heard it takes a shop less than 1 hour to change each strut. is that true? how long should it take for a shop to change the struts?

Jobber's published hours are approximate.
Yes, it may only take an hour each to replace the strut. It may take two hours to remove and replace the components to get to the strut. This depends on the conduction of your vehicle.
How experienced is the shop with working with Lexus ES250? How often have they replaced the four struts in a vehicle in your condiction? They may need to order parts from Lexus, exposed as worn when the strut is removed.
A good shop would and this adds to the repair time.
