Where do you bring your car for service when it's out of warranty
Just curious because it's time for the 60k service on our 99 GS300. The door actuator went out and there is a intermittent, weird gurgling noise coming from behind the hvac controls at low rpms. I figure the labor rate is going to be high at the dealership so I wanted to see if anyone had a local guy he/she used. I am in San Francisco, CA.
Thanks.
Thanks.

The noise from the behind the HVAC control may cause by low coolant.
The service cost for your car may vary depending what they will do to the car. The GS300 spark plugs is due at 60K and that will add another $200.00 for part and labor.

thanks for the reply. The noise sometimes sounds like rocks behind the hvac controls. Weird. Last time I checked the coolant it did seem a little down. I'll search the forums and see what's the proper brand of coolant to use. The spark plugs seem a bit inaccessible. Without a manual, I won't be doing any maintenance myself.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

just curious....do you know why it makes that noise with low coolant? I sometimes hear that noise also but never figured it out. My coolant level is good....but I'll double check. thanks!

Filled up the coolant tank a couple of days ago and drove it today. I heard the noise briefly today but it has disappeared.
Excellent tip.
Thanks.
