Question

I am pretty sure it is behind the glove box on the left, but I can't seem to get to it. Surely I don't have to take the entire dash off. Can anyone tell me how I can relpace it myself? 92 sc400

Thumbs up

the A/C filter on the sc400 is located under the passenger side dash ... what you have to do is first remove the under dash cover which is held in place with two black plastic rivets which just pull out then you'll see two wing nuts which hold the filter acess plate in place remove these and you'll gain access to the filter located between the blower motor and the coil the part number is 88880-24020

On one post a person just rinsed it out with a easy stream of water and let it air dry.

Plus on another post it was replaced with a filter from Home Depot or Wal-Mart that trimmed to fit for a few bucks. I'm not certain if it was a hepa filter.

I'm the one that got the filter from Home Depot...It was NOT a hepa filter...but it only cost me .97 cents to make so it's definetly worth it for me

(just to let everyone know...i don't have any allergies so a hepa or non-hepa will make no difference to me!!!)

LS 400 a/c filter is in back on glove compartment. Gently pull on the black cover, it's about 2 in tall and 10in wide. Once you get it off, it will make sense to you. Just the filter costs about $49.00. It's about a 10 in by 10in by 1/2 inch high. I think it's pictured in the owner's manual.
