A/C Control Panel LCD dark
Does any one out there have a solution other than buying a whole new control unit
for this problem? When the weather is warm I can read the LCD readout.
Now in cooler weather, I can't read the vent positons, or temp settings.
If there is no other solution, is there any one on the FORUM that has access to A/C control panel
Center Displays? . I heard you can get them on E-Bay. Also, I've got some good hits on Billy's
Toyota/Lexus used parts. Any good source of used parts out there?
How about a junked '92 SC 300. Arn't many of the parts the same up thru 98?
Thanks, Don

THANKS,
I'll keep this offer in mind. This could be a Christmas gift to myself.
I know the functions by heart now. It just looks bad, if you know what I mean.

not sure if i understand your description of the problem.. is your lcd bleeding/blackening out? if so, then most likely you have to replace the unit with a new/used one bc i doubt the lcd is serviceable. the radio lcd is serviceable though (at least with the ES300)
if you're talking about the backlighting/bulbs are not lighting up behind the lcd or buttons (particulary during night driving) there are tiny bulbs that you can easily change DIY. theyre tiny screw-on bulbs in my ES a/c unit. not sure if it's the same in the SC.
if it's the bulbs, first try whacking the top of the a/c unit with the bottom of your fist. sometimes that will set the bulbs in or whatever.
else, change the bulbs out yourself or you can let Lextech (a vendor here) do the service for a fee
