I have a 99 ES300 with 30k miles. I change oil myself every 5k using Mobil 1 synthetics and Pure One filter. I just changed the air filter. Now are these hard to do:
Automatic Transmission Fluid
Differential Fluid
Brake Fluid
Engine Coolant
The engine coolant shouldn't be too hard. But does changing the tranny fluid require you to drop the pan and change the filter or juct drain and refill? Also do I need to change the PCV valve yet and if so, where is the dar thing located? My dealer wants $595 to do the 30k service which looks like they don't do much. A lot of "inspecting" involve. Quite expensive.

Turbotc,
I have never changed the tranny fluid myself but I don't think tranny fluid should be changed this early, at only 30k miles they are just warming up. In fact Lexus don't even recommand changing the fluid at all unless it's really necessary!
IMO, at 30k motor oil, brake fluid and coolant is enough, changing tranny fluid at 100k is more than adequate. Of course, if you find the fluid dirty or burned (become goo like) and you drive the car hard everyday then changing wouldn't hurt.
Btw good choice on the engine oil, I use Mobil 1 as well with oem Denso filter.
