I'm not suprised there are some minor variances even within the same production year. Given the pressures of production lines, the complexity of modern engines and the hundreds of suppliers they deal with, there's bound to be a few changes during the model year. Plus, all bets are off once they leave the factory and dealers, independent service shops and owners start working on them.
The gasket between the airfilter box and the MAF unit is made of rubber and easily reused, but because of the high heat in that area between B & C, that gasket is made of thick paper, so it might disintegrate when you remove it, 'specially after all these years.
