SC400 @ 150K, what to do?

Default SC400 @ 150K, what to do?

I purchased my SC400 with 145K on the ODO and just hit the 150 mark, I believe it's due for the big service, but much of it has been done. I still would like a lexus dealer or other mechanic to give me one of those dealer reports with compression and and overall printout on the condition.

What are suggested "should-do's" for 150K..

I like others am still on stock springs and the ride isn't lexus worthy, and am looking to replace my springs, many say they will last forever, I do not agree. 150k of freewile cali miles will ruin your springs over 12 years.

Tranny recently done.
Did an oil change with original lexus/toyo filter.
Power steering changed 4000 miles ago.
Rear differential is Supra LSD with ~65K on it and fluid done 3-4K ago.

there is a service due at 150,000..but the big one was due at 120,000 miles...and again at 180,000 miles..

What do you mean by "big". My understanding is there is a mjor service @ 90k that includes the timing belt change out. Wouldn`t the 120k service be the 30k interval service? I wouldn`t consider that to be "big".The 180k service would then be the 60k service that includes new plugs and such. Am I totally off base here? My concern is I am in the same SC(wouldn`t dare refer my SC as a boat) as my bro that asked the original question. I will be taking my black beauty to Todd @ TMenginering next Saturday to change out ALL the fluids and give her a bumper to bumper inspection.

What does he charge do to that? Damn, I'm in LA, but don't have a way to get a ride back to leave the car with him, it's quite far. Are there any rental rates around there? I would like to have him give the car a good inspection.

He charges $400.00 for everything, including all synthetic lubricants and full inspection. Synthetic were he recomends. Not tranny he said. I am sure he can hook you up with a good rate from a rental company he works with. This is just speculation. You will have to ask him.

I am wondering what bolts are to be retorqued during these major inspections.

My bad. They don`t call you the CEO for nothing. Got the answer to my own question, and the CEO is absalutly correct.The 150k is the 30k interval service. The majors are at 60k intervals.

I guess it depends on the car. My SC has 245k miles and on (from what I seem to think) stock shocks and springs. The ride isnt Lexus smooth, but its pretty damn good for a car with that many miles. I say change your shocks/springs only if the ride is really disturbing you.

Ok well since this thread is still going..

Since posting..

I had a mechanical shop install parts I ordered, and fix my other issues.

I put in new dis. and rotors, new spark plugs, new spark harness, and a anew fuel filter.

My belts are ok, I had a tire replaced in the rear.

I also had a wiring short and a blown MAF, which I installed a CL purchased MAF and an electrcial person on behalf of the mechanic fixed the issues.

With 12 years and 150K on the odo, alot of the wires are falling out of their clips, or taken out from various services. Many of the wires are starting to rub and causes sensor malfunctions. I guess the best way is to tackle one at a time.

Everything else on the car is ok and runs very well now. Also had the Tb cleaned, who knows if it had ever been done, about 2mms of carbon was built up. This was fully cleaned and flushed out.
