Knock Sensor Location on a 3vz-fe
HELP!! Does anybody know the exact location of the knock sensors for this type engine.
How do I get to tit even if I know the location. I heard on the IUZ engine its under the intake manifold.
I also heard its a PITA to get to. I cant even find the wire that goes to the sensor. Figured it would be going under the intake manifold.
If anyone has ever actually changed the knock sensors or even seen them on a engine, please help. Ive searched all over the net, havent found one that would let me know the exact location.

Thanks for the help.
One follow up question. If you do get the knock sensor code, does it mean that the sensor or wiring is bad? Or could it be some other condition causing the fault? I ask because
1. When it first came on, it would come on shortly after I get on the road.
2. After a few maintenance sessions, (ie, plugs, pcv valve, fluids, filters, fuel injector cleaner), the light would take alot longer to come one, sometimes not at all. But it would faithfully appear sooner or later.
3. Im thinking its more of a wire problem since a bad sensor should keep the light on all the time.
Anyone else have this condition?

in my experience the sensors and the wire meet their doom about the same time...as a rule we ALWAYS do the wire and the sensors together...otherwise we end up going back into it the next day..
