- More Durability and a Higher Melting Point than Platinum.
- Better Center Electrode Anti-Oxidation and Anti-Erosion
- Improved Ignition
- Superior Anti-Fouling
- Lower Required Voltage
- New Metal Shell Plating Process for Better Anti-Corrosion

and yes they do advertise that Iridium IX Spark Plugs offer outstanding acceleration, high fuel efficiency and long life. [/QUOTE]

Nothing written above claims Iridiums deliver superior power or fuel economy compared to conventional spark plugs or platinum spark plugs. Instead, what you see is subliminal marketing at work - getting the public to IMAGINE there is a power or fuel economy gain. Businesses with fleets or cars and trucks recognize subliminal marketing when they see it and that's why they don't buy Iridiums or Splitfire spark plugs or all the other gimmick spark plugs.

Synthetic oil is marketed the same way - no clear claims are made on the labels that synthetic oil will provide better power, fuel economy and engine life, but millions of people buy it anyway because slick the subliminal advertizing gets them to IMAGINE that synthetic provides these benefits. Again, most businesses with fleets of cars and gasoline powered trucks don't use synthetic because they recognize slick advertizing is no substitute for hard data comparing identical vehicles using conventional and synthetic oil.

Look at that BS above! Not saber or MeesoFly, I'm referring to the wording that these companies use to push their products. "More, better, improved, superior", etc...all BS words to "imply" improvement....I'll just stick to the platinum plugs and dino oil I guess....great discussion though fellas, keep it up!
