Try the product from http://www.blueskycleanair.com
if you are worried about it being gummed up.
A friend with a RAV4 here in Mexico City told me about this product. My U.S. state no longer requires emissions testing, but when my friend has it checked in Mexico City, it won't pass as it is all gummed up by the bad Mexican gas. After filling up with a tank at the California border, he poured this in and it passed without a hitch in CA.
Curious, why don't you think it will pass?

haha...i think if u use a low octane gas it'll help reduce the smog? is that right? or was it the other way around??? but yeah....lower your boost and lean it. i think they had a superstreet civic si challenge. last months issue. go check it out. they had a smog test as well. dunno if this helps...my car isn't turbo'ed yet. so cant tell ya, only suggestions.

In addition, your spark plugs, if too old, can sometimes not ignite all the gas. Doubt that would be a problem.
I had friends mod cars in smog states such as Connecticut and Illinois. The only thing they had to watch watch was the air intake and not to let too much air get in or you fail the smog test by default.

He probably cant pass smog because he cant pass visual, nor the OBD test, nor emissions. If he has a JDM motor it will never pass here in CA since they are illegal. He is asking for a different type of help...
