Question Driver's side seat power

The driver' s side seat moves back and forth on the left while the right side is just stopped. I discovered no current on the connector when the power button is moved back and forth. Does anyone know of a way to further troubleshoot the problem? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Noah,

The power seat trouble shooting section of the Repair Manual is 20 or so pages long, too many to scan and email. If you pm me your address I'll mail you a copy.

Is your problem with the passenger seat? If its the drivers seat, I need to know if you have the seat memory feature (buttons on the door in front of the handle).

BTW, my RM is for the 96 SC.

George

This is very common problem on the 1st gen SC, the plastic cap that hold the cable came loose , so now the cable(gear) can't drive the right side of the track.
You will have to remove 4 of the 14 mm bolts that hold the seat track, by using box wrench( a pain in the neck, because the seat won't move far enough to excess to the bolts) and look for a small white plastic cap. Good luck.

Hi Nuum,

You are definitely a fountain of knowledge. Was this problem corrected in 95?

Thanks George
I'm not sure about the 95 and up, but I've seen a lot of this problems on the 92-94.

Thanks. I will try to remove the seat and look for that plastic cap. I will post my finding here.

Little late posting the followup

You were right VVT-I. The little plastic cap had come loose. Thanks for the tip.
