On a ferry boat last month, I managed to get the DVD to be viewed upfront in addition to the rear player. I can not for the the life of me repeat this cool task. How may I repeat this? I believe the car was off in park on radio setting, and I began a movie and it appeared...

The car needs to be in park. And the parking brake needs to be on. Then you can watch the video both places.

Or, you can get the override kit & watch while you drive & use the nav without any limitations while you drive down the road. I installed the kit by myself in less than an hour. Used the kit previously in my LS460.

Prestigious Society sells a Lexus DVD/Nav Override kit for the LS & LX - (maybe for all the cars in the line) I have used it in only the LS & LX. This Kit gives you all the functionality when moving as is available when the car is parked--DVD, phone, destination, etc. Priced in the low $300.'s, installed in back of the NAV unit with a trigger or toggle switch to the dash. Works great! Other posters on this thread have purchased it also and there is much about this unit on LS board.
