Default Just bought a LX470..have a few Q's.

Picked up a Certified 01 LX470, (according to dealer - fully loaded). I noticed the lights are Halogen and sales person stated that the LX does not have a Xenon option. Has anyone converted their lights to Xenon?

Also, I have the ML/NAV and noticed that once an address is inputed and the LX is moving, yoyu can't change address until the LX comes to a complete stop...any way to over rid this? This feature is pretty korny. Has anyone disabled this feature?

Thanks in advance.

HID lights are not an option for the Lexus LX 470. Also while driving you cannot enter an address in the navigation system. They designed it this way for saftey reasons. However you can always select "home" at any time to get directions even while the car is moving. I do not know of a way to bypass this. The only other option is to enter the info at a stop light or park the car to enter your destination.

Hope this helps,

I know you can retrofit an HID kit to the LX. Not sure if anyone here has yet. Welcome to ClubLexus!

Sup Sickman!

The HID's are still en route so I didn't get to do them this weekend...

I decided to give the LX to wife...it just wasn't for me. I sure miss my 540 I am actively looking for a M5 or E55 now.

Did an HID upgrade on our LX - the install is touchy as the "keyhole" for the H1 insert must be increased (filed) in size to accomodate the HID insulator. The results are fantastic, however, as the side vision is increased markedly.

Any reputable HID supplier (repackager) will provide you with what you need, just specify an H1 lamp and (IMO) stay below the 6000K color offerings. I would suggest you have someone handle the job for you unless you are comfortable with the task; as an example, if you don't enlarge the bulb opening sufficiently you'll risk cracking the insulator during installation (at $50 or more per bulb you don't want to do that often). Additionally, upon start up the ballast is pushing significant voltage - you want to be sure your connections are well insulated and secure, not to mention the ballast/igniter is securely mounted. You will also have to modify the housing plug (the twist on/twist off o-ringed plug).

Best of luck,

Bill
