Replacement Fuel Tank
Hi all,
I bought an 04 LX470 with 92K on it a month or so ago and it's at the shop to get the air conditioner fixed and I am also having my mechanic do the timing belt/water pump.
I had noticed the smell of gas when the tank is full, and he called me yesterday to tell me that the tank is damp on the bottom and since the undercarriage is pretty rusty, it probably has a hole on the top of it. There is a little gas on the bottom of the tank as well.
Since he is a buddy, he told me to start looking on the internet (OEM or maybe a plastic replacement). I spent a couple of hours last night looking and I haven't found anything.
Is there a chance that a Landcruiser tank is the same?
Looking for any guidance and hopefully a source.
Thanks in advance.
Mike

After some more searching, it seems that the only replacement is OEM via Lexus/Toyota.
Looks like this is what I need:
http://www.lexussouthatlantaparts.co...700160880.html
I was hoping to find a "this is better, cheaper, and holds more gas" alternative, but it looks like that's not out there.
As always any input is appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

Have you checked out Sewell? They are selling it for $431.25 with the CL discount.
