drive shaft greasing
been searching for the clunk noise that i have in my car for awhile. it comes out a second when releasing the brake paddle.
don't LOTS of research and found out that the drive shaft has to be serviced with every oil change.
some folks say the moly grease works better than synthetic grease.
my questions:
1- anyone had experienced with moly grease and what is the outcome?which one is better?
2- has anyone figured out how many pump take the slip yoke zerk? i know the U joint take pumps till it ooze out the old one.
Any help is appreciated it.

The issue is a known problem. There is a thread tha ttalks about replacing hte driveshaft. The issue is the design of shaft itself. If you grease it regularly, it reduces the clunk but it likely will not eliminate it. The new design driveshaft is $500-$600. I only hear the clunk occassionally and it doesn;t bother me enough to replace the driveshaft/. Maybe when the universal joints let go.

some say moly will last longer. anyone experienced this please share !!

Have your mechanic take out the rear drive shaft and lube the Splines with Moly fortified Multi-purpose grease. Once done then he can lube the rest.
I had mine done about 10,000 miles ago and I barely feel the jerking.

Just greased by 2000 LX. Universal joints took 2-3 pumps for grease to leak out. Put 15 pumps in slip joint, and the noises went away. Have been greasing every 10K miles. Front fitting require removing 8 bolts to remove shield. 4 of the bolts broke this last time requiring drilling and tapping from below. Will replace all bolts with stainless steel before winter.
