my 2000 lx 470 with 200k mi ... just started having starting problems ... needs to crank quite a long time to fire ... once it starts, it runs normal ... is there a check valve in the fuel system to maintain fuel pressure overnight or during extended periods of non-op, like parked at an ariport parking lot while traveling? Is this a sign that the fuel pump is beginning to fail? Or is there some other part in the fuel system that needs replacement or repair ... anyone have a clue on this one? I have a 2001 LX with 115K. About 2xs a year, it just won't start. It will crank and crank, but no start. After about 3 hours of sitting, it will start right up and will run fine. About 10months later, it will happen again. My mechanic is stumped since there are no error codes. His diagnostic tools will not communicate to the body control unit so he can't say for sure whether or not it is the anti theft system. And after my AHC system debacle at dealership/s costing me almost $6K, (thank goodness for Slee off road) I won't go back to the Lexus dealerships for any problems. I can honestly say this is my first and last Lexus.

Hello, I am having the same problems. it cranks for a long time but wont start.. wait out a little bit, then it sometimes starts..

I have changed the efi relay.. but still not working consistently.

did you guys ever find the fix?
