Looking to purchase a 2007 LX470, Have a few ?'s
I have searched on here and understand, and found the exhaust manifold issue, and adjustable strut issue. Anything else I should beware of on a 2007?
Thanks,

should beware of
The LX470 should be very reliable.
I have heard of some issues regarding rust and corrosion.

Here is what I have found.
That was all I found so far. I was not aware of the multiple fluid changes though. The re-pack of front hub bearings I expected.

I was not aware of the multiple fluid changes though
AHC fluid
coolant
front, centre, rear differentials,
wheel bearing grease
brake fluid
tranmission fluid.
air filter
air cabin filters
All of these except for coolant will need to be changed at various intervals before 60,000 miles.
Just curious. Why don't you go for a 2008/2009 LX570...far superior SUV IMO

Cost prohibitive and non-removable third row seating.
I am looking at 07' LX470's at the auction for around $38K with less than 18K miles on them. The third row is removable as well. The LX570 while offering many more features and improvements, is at least $20-22K more at the auction, and then I have a vehicle that has limited cargo area. I need the cargo room more than I need the third row. I am tossed between the 07' LX470 and a 08' Escalade. I much prefer the Lexus product over the cheap GM product, however I need the room in the back.
I have had such a great life with the LS430 after the MB E500 I had before it, that I have become Lexus biased. We had a 2007 EB Expedition 4X4 and had it lemoned within ten months due to tire pressure sensor failures, so a Ford or Lincoln product is no longer an option. The GL450 is smaller and I replaced the Expedition with a 2007 MDX Tech/Ent. It's just too small for our liking, and we thought we could live with it. So now the hunt is on for a clean LX470 or we will stick with the MDX.

Lx570 third row seats can be removed. While not easy, it can be done.
How about a Sequoia?
It uses the same ride suspesion as the LX470 and has the 5.7 and a excellent differential and lots of room with third row fold flat.

i would avoid the lx570 for now, it's too new to know much about it, plus the cost is out of hand this day in age. I was thinking of upgrading to LX570 from 470 but I couldn't find much differences yet at this point to put in another $50k from where I am now.
The LX470 was so well balanced for luxury and utility that's why Lexus had trouble replacing it until nobody bought it because it looked old that nobody bought them anymore. Functionalitywise, for a SUV it has pretty much what the LX570 comes with just looks different.

one more thing is i wouldn't compare an escalade to a LX470. That's like comparing the old 1991 Cadallac allante to a 1991 MB SL500. People were comparing them all in the same class until time vindicated which is a better car.

There is a lot of changes at short intervals IMO
AHC fluid
coolant
front, centre, rear differentials,
wheel bearing grease
brake fluid
tranmission fluid.
air filter
air cabin filters
All of these except for coolant will need to be changed at various intervals before 60,000 miles.

2004+ LX470 fluid Intervals:
AHC fluid--60k
coolant--first change at 100k, 50k there after
transmission fluid--100k
Front, center, rear differentials, brake fluid, and air filter--same as any other vehicle in its class. There have been no major breakthroughs in technology
Air cabin filters are pretty much optional and can be run w/o a filter as the LC's do.
Wheel bearing grease interval is very, very conservative. Many have gone over 150k miles w/o even a repack or any problems. Deep water/mud going LX470's should have their bearings serviced at 15k mile intervals.
Contrary to pagemaster's belief, the '07+ Sequoia's suspension is nothing like the LX470. The reason why the 3rd seats can fold flat is because it has Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) as opposed to the LX470's rigid rear axle. IRS, by design will have a better ride on road but is not nearly as heavy duty.

I understand that pagemaster got himself a 570, so he obviously likes it. I too was looking forward to replacing my 98' 470 with the new 570. Until I saw the pictures and specs of what was coming out. I rushed to buy one of the remaining 06's. Then checking the 570 at the dealership reinforced my initial impression. So not everyone would like the 570. And having owned the 98 for almost ten years - there was just not much maintenance required, and I never had a single issue with it during all those years. Offroading occasionally as well.. Not a single issue with the 06, though you can see that the quality dropped somewhat in comparison to the earlier ones. Still good though.

My thoughts on the LX570 are this: It is a far superior vehicle to the LX570 from the standpoint of power, capability, features etc. It is by far more superior vehicle with the power and towing capacity. As for the interior features, it has much more up to date features than the LX470. The 4zone vs 2 zone climate, ventilated seats, 2nd row power sliding seats are all superior.
What the LX470 has going for it is far better refinement and prestige. The 5.7 is just not as smooth, quiet and refined as the 4.7. Not sure if that is power and timing chain related or both. The drivetrain also seems to be a little smoother in the 4.7...this all trades off because the LX470 lacks performance and towing.
The interior of the LX470 is also higher quality than the Lx570 with nearly every detail present. Even the pull handle for the hood release is two tone. There is tasteful crome surrounding the speakers, cloth trim on the third row arm ledge, Lexus name on the rear tail gate when the tailgate is down. Every little detail in the LX470 is present where as they are not always there in the LX570
Overall both vehicle feel like $70-$80k vehicles with the LX570 focusing on power, features, capability where as the LX470 focuses on refinement, prestige and class.
