2009 LX Hybrid
Hey All...
I just had to drop of my 2004 LX at the dealership because it turned into a "low rider" (i.e. hanging in the back). In any event, I got talking to someone at the dealership who told me that there will be a 2009 LX hybrid and that the existing LX is being "re-skinned" next year. I heard about the newly redesigned LX, as it's probably long overdue. I haven't yet heard about the 2009 hybrid LX. Has Lexus officially announced this anywhere? The timing would be perfect for me. I'd be about ready to dump my 04 and get into something that doesn't cost me $65 at the pumps every other day!

This is the first rumor I've heard about a release date of the hybrid LX. But 2009...man that's still 4 long years away... Hopefully they'll be able to introduce it much sooner because the world can seriously use some more fuel-efficient SUVs RIGHT NOW!

Well, the technology is clearly there. If it can be done in the RX and the many other vehicles on the market, there is no reason there can't be a hybrid of every vehicle made. Given the choice, I think most consumers would pay more money for something that is far more fuel efficient...especially if it means we don't have to purchase something a normal size human being isn't meant to fit into. We love our SUV's, so let's meet the demand.
