Audi Q7 Hybrid
Audi has announced that it will release a hybrid version of its Q7 SUV later this year. Co-developed with both Volkswagen and Porsche, the new hybrid uses a gasoline engine and an electric that can run in tandem or be run independently on either power source. VW has plans to launch a similar system in its Touareg SUV next year with Porsche's hybrid Cayenne bowing by the end of the century.
According to Audi, the parallel hybrid system is one that can easily be adapted to other models in Audi's lineup. The Q7 hybrid uses a 280 horsepower 3.2 liter V6 and a 34kW electric motor that provides an additional 210 lb-ft of torque. A 3.0 diesel Q7 is also expect to be launched by the end of the year.

Lexus how about a GX with a hybrid option for '09.
Please and Thank you,
Jesse
The GX with its truck chassis is too heavy and inefficient to begin with to compete with the Q7 hybrid. Lexus needs to put the LF-X, a 7-seat crossover, into production and offer a hybrid powertrain soon to compete in this growing crossover market.
