2011 LX 570 or 2012 QX 56 - HELP!?
Hey All! Trying to decide on my next truck... I'm stuck between a 2011 LX 570 with 65k miles or 2012 QX 56 with 46k miles..... both listed at approx same price... I currently own a 1998 Toyota 4runner. Thanks in advance for all feedback and comments!

Given you've posted nothing about the truck's primary use, at this point you may as well flip a coin...since this is an LX forum which vehicle do you think will be recommended? Same if you post the same question on a Nissan forum.

You have consider the maintenance cost of the QX ( Nissan) vs the LX (Toyota) . I 've owned a Nissan before , pretty much expensive when it break down compared to Toyota .

2011-2012 QX 56s are known to have timing chain issues. People have had engines fail between 50-80k miles to the tune of $5,500. I'd stick with the LX, if it were my money. The QX engine issues are documented pretty well on some of the Infiniti forums. Good luck, and either way, congratulations on your future purchase!

Back to the "apples and oranges"...
A QX is better compared to a Sequoia or Tahoe (and whatever GMC calls their clone).
The LX is much different than any of those 3 given it's off-road capability. Direct competitors might be along the lines of MB's Box-Wagen, or something from Rover.
What did you end up buying??

Sequoia is also quite offroad capable (considering its size). It has A-TRAC, a low-range gearing, approach and departure angles comparable to LX/LC and quite good ground clearance with its 32" tires (even better than LX or LC). Although it was not designed as an offroader, I drove it to places where I never met anything else than some modified Jeeps :-)

I still own 2008 Sequoia and I really don't think that QX is better than Sequoia. Sequoia is a very reliable and extremely spacious SUV. I would never buy my 2016 LX if Sequoia could have an adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitor, rear cross traffic alert and LED headlights (I know that Sequoia Platinum can have an adpative cruise control and a blind spot monitor but the adaptive cruise control is an older version without full speed range and Platinum cannot have 2nd row bench seat which is absolutely necessary for me).

I tested QX before I purchased 2016 LX. Yes, it is quite cheap and not so bad. I could save about $25,000 comparing to LX but I decided that it's not worth it. Simply I had much better feeling in LX.

Yes, I am sorry, now I understand. Sometimes English is still difficult to understand for non-native speakers :-)

I guarantee you speak and write far better English than I could attempt with any foreign language that comes to mind, with the exception maybe for Texan...that took about 6 months to learn and still comes up in my speaking occasionally, even though I moved to Idaho 14 years ago.

To all the thoughtful replies, I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts! And really, that's what I was looking for.... Turns out I waited too long as both vehicles are now gone... With that said, I'll hold out for an LX. That's truly where my heart is! I'd seen a number of posts regarding the QX timing belt issue(s), so admittedly that should have turned me away immediately. Thanks again and I wish you all the best!
