Looking to buy a LS460/L / LX570. Need assistance
Hi all, I am looking to buy a LS460 (wife leaning towards SWB but I like LWB) or the LX570 (right they are 2 very different vehicles but we happen to like both). ALso I am assuming price for 2008 will be heavily discounted than the 2009s, but any of you know by how much of a difference? We don't mind getting 2008s but if the difference isn't that much, we'll go for the 2009s.
I am wonder what price we should be offering (exclude tax / license etc..)
According to Lexus.com site for 2009 models,
LS460 w/ Comfort Pkg, Navigation System/Mark Levinson® Reference Surround Sound Audio System /Advanced Parking Guidance System Package ----> $72,030.00
LS460L w/ Luxury Package, Mark Levinson® Audio System Package, Touring Package -----> $81,380.00
LS460 AWD w/ Navigation System/Mark Levinson® Reference Surround Sound Audio System Package -----> $73,670.00
LX570 MSRP ~$84,000.00 + change
I heard there are some incentives provided by Lexus to the dealers so hopefully that can be added to the discount for the vehicle.
I am located in the bay area but I'm willing to go as far as Los Angeles to make the purchase if the price difference is over 500.
Appreciate the help guys!

I think the price you get from the dealer would have alot to do with where your dealer is located.

I have bought 4 cars and referred probably 10+ people to Rick Rose there. You wont find anyone better than him.

I have both cars. Buy the LS if you do alot of expressway driving-I get 28mpg on the interstates and do not need the extra passenger room. It rides better than LX, and quieter.
Now the LX is a much heavier car with lots of room. It also is quiet and the sound system is above expectations. Gas mileage on the interstate is around 18mpg
My new LX (2008) was just bought at invoice ($72K) with a sticker of $83K as the 2009 are just now arriving at the dealers. I saw a 2007 LS in the showroom for $52000 (10K miles on it)

I would go with an LS AWD but both are nice and you wouldn't go wrong either way. You have to ask yourself if you really need an SUV that big. If not, the LS will do just fine.

LS or LX
It all depends on what you want. Are you looking for a sedan or a suv? I have a 2008 LX570 & 2009 LS460 and both are great autos. Both are roomy, drive and handle well, and honestly they both get great gas mileage (and I have somewhat of a heavy foot). If your just looking for the top of the line most expensive car Lexus makes, then the LS600HL is what your looking for. The LX570 is the most expensive suv Lexus builds, and I believe its the 2nd most expensive vehicle in Lexus' line up (not sure how the 2009 LS460 all wheel drives are priced). Anyway I guess my point is they aren't a step up or down from each other as much as they are in 2 completely different categories.

I'd suggest going for the LS460L, better the LS600HL, it has the same audio system that LX has (if you care) and way quite than LX570. On the other hand, if you have a big family I'd advice you to get the LX or the Landcruiser.
I can say I'm a bit troubled if you ask me driving my LX570, comparing to my older SUV, the Landcruiser '98, last one pretty much in fit and not as large and as clumsy as my new ride is.
Yeah its too big that I actually think I'm driving an H2 not a Lexus SUV, I don't find it smooth and easy to change lanes in the express way...
