Default Broken keys internal, best option

Hello everyone, Vince here, so my 2004 lx470 that I acquired came with missing internal, what would be the best option besides going to dealer for new key. I saw some eBay selling 2 keys with fob for $40, would taking out the internal and following the steps posted on Internet to program the fob, would this work? Or has anyone buy keys on eBay and go to homedepot to get keys cut and was able to program? I know there is a thread on this but it got really confusing. Anyone can point me in the right direction much appreciated.

As a baseline, call your local dealer for a price on a programmed master key.

To my knowledge, HD and Lowe's cannot cut that kind of key. You need to find a local locksmith who has the equipment. It may take a few calls. Some model year LX's can program a new master, assuming you have an existing master, which you do. I'd post your question in the 100-series forum on ih8mud.com. More diy stuff then here.
