Default Window stops halfway up

The driver side window on my 2007 LX goes about halfway up when raising it then slows to a stop. I was hit by a dump truck while we were both leaving a gas station several years ago which damaged the driver's side door. It was repaired and has worked fine since. I have removed the door panel and don't readily see a problem. I am thinking the previous damage has led to the problem and a new OE regulator by Dorman for $61 should fix it. Ideas or ways to confirm before removal? Also regulator removal steps as well as any needed adjustments to motor or stops would be appreciated. I have replaced regulators before, but never on an auto up, or auto down window. Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

The series 100 has a feature called, iirc, "pinch adjustment". On newer models you might try raising the window to fully closed and holding the button in the up position for a few seconds after the window closes fully. On older models, it's fixed by calibrating the maximum up position based on a fixed starting point of the window. I.e., it varies based on year.

You might try logging into ih8mud.com, go to the 100 series tech forum, and search for "window regulator adjustment"...click the search window check box for "check this forum only".

I wish I could, but it stops about 1/3 of the way up, and will NOT close.

It sounds to me like the Dorman replacement ought to fix the issue.

I would suggest a couple drops of blue LocTite on the bolts that attach the window with frame to the regulator. If you start seeing and / or feeling sloppy glass, the bolts are beginning to back out. When one of the bolts falls out completely, it's a real biatch to get the glass realigned in its track. The issue is not extremely common, but it's definitely a normal issue,

Give the tracks a good coat of liquid silicone spray when you pull the glass.

Good luck and please update the fix when you're done.
