Lexus LX470 retrofitted with SC430 projectors
I have an 03 LX470 that I gotten tired of blown bulbs due to over voltage. So I started with the morimoto H1 hid kit which gave better results over stock. But I wanted more. So I purchased some SC430 projectors from a hid planet user and went to work.

Then after opening up the headlights & removing the projector. I test fitted the reflector bowl up to the LX projector. They do fit. You just gotta cut a slit on one side of the bowl where the screws are & it flushes perfect. So here's a pic. Didn't like the results so I went to a different approach

I couldn't tell you but all I can say is the driver side headlight would always blow. The wire gets so hot that either the bulb would blow out or the wire would just burn off the connector. Put a volt meter on it & it read 16v. Don't have any problems running hids either aftermarket or oem

What I ended up doing next was since the lx projector bowl was all 1 piece, I use a dremel to cut the lx projector bowl completely out leaving just the plate with the headlight mounting brackets still attached for aiming

Next you just simply put them together. Just the 2 screws puts it all together. (Note: they both have the exact same reflector bowl. Only difference the LX uses a H1 reflector bowl & the Sc reflector bowl uses D2S. So you can just swap bowls. Just remember to put a slit on one side of the SC bowl for just screwing it to the LX projector due to the SC bowl is a tab bit bigger but it mounts up perfectly

Next was test fitting & it fits perfectly. Only one problem. The thick ring around the projector wouldn't let the shroud flush. So I had to take it out & get to cutting again. I just simply cut that thick ring wall from around the front of the projector. Put it back together and test fitted and the shroud flushed with no problems. After that I put it all together

Got the headlights in. Powered them up & no problems. Side markers back on. Putting the trim piece back together. (Note: be extremely careful removing the trim piece. It breaks easily. I also went to the salvage yard & purchased 2 headlight connectors for $2. Give it that oem connection look.)
