LX 470 Battery Light and Power Steering Issues
I have a 1999 LX470with 198, 300 miles and have been having issues with the car shutting off at idle, but since the check engine light isn't coming on, it can't be checked for codes. That battery was recently replaced, so I was told to drive the car to get the CEL to come on. Of course it stalls when I approach a stop sign, so I have to restart the car. On my last drive today, it stalled, and I restarted the car and now the battery light is on and the power steering isn't working. The alternator was replaced about 6 months ago and it has a new battery. The manual said that the battery was discharging and to turn off the fan, excess lights, etc. I know I'm not helping my original problem, but I disconnected the battery for fear of it being completely discharged and needing to replace it too. I could use some advice on the battery light and power steering issue first, then if anyone has any insight to the original problem, I'd appreciate that too.

Posting to provide and update on the fix. It was a bad tensioner for the power steering belt. It cause the belt to break, so both were replaced. As for the original problem, the mechanic cleaned the fuel injection system and there's no more stalling. The car runs fine, but the CEL came on again on the ride home, it figures. I'm going to take it to autozone tomorrow to check the codes.

I went to autozone and had them run diagnostics on my car. It came up with a P0170 code. It said that bank 1 sensor is too lean. Before I take it back to the garage, does anyone have any thoughts? The guy at autozone said it could be a vacuum leak, bad gas, or an O2 sensor. Just wondering if any of the cleaning solvent reside that the mechanic used to clean the fuel injection would cause this. I know that's a long shot, nut thought it would be worth asking.
