A story and a question
#16
I drive with all of my lights, on fogs and everything, all of the time. not only is it safer it looks better.
make sure that whenever you exit the car to hit the lock button twice and that should shut the lights off immediately.
If you do not use the remote simply hit the button on the door handle twice this will not turn off immediately, but it will insure that they turn off within about 30-60 seconds.
these are simply observations of mine and i have not timed anything so i may not be exact.

It does not work quite like you suggested.
As for the button on the door: the lights go off in accordance with the delay setting regardless of what you do with the door button, if all is well with the car and at least one door is opened and all doors are closed after the ignition is turned off.
The remote key will truncate (cut short) the outside-lights-off delay if you push the LOCK button twice is short order when the ignition is off and at least one door is opened, followed by all doors closed. If the lights don't go off when you hit the LOCK button on the remote twice, they will not extinguish until the battery is fully discharged and that is also an indication that the doorjamb switch on the driver's door is defective.
