The HID headlamps will not dim/the ballast should keep them lit until there is a complete alternator failure. I will not test the car until Friday. As soon as the results are in I will post them. Hopefully this leads to a fix for someone else.

i had this flickering happen the other day with my dash lights at 50%.

i was sitting in a partially shaded area when it was quite sunny out and the dash was flickering trying to decide whether to auto adjust to full brightness or 50% like i had it causing it to flicker.

i simply put the brightness to full 100% max bright and the problem was solved!

I changed the alternator and battery but the flicker is still there. The car has been to a dealer and no resolution. However, I am confident the service department can fix this automobile. To be continued...

Default Conclusion

A: New battery, alternator, fuse, and diy labor solved the issue in my cluster($450).
B. One 40min. dealership visit resulted in a horrible idle, and a hard/erratic shifting transmission (priceless).

In response to your concern about B.

This is only temporary. Because you replaced the battery and dealer probably reset the transmission ECU. The car will have to relearn your driving habits and recalibrate itself before you get better shifts and better idle. Your car will sort itself about through time when you drive. Give it a good long drive in the mountains and all will be good as new.

Hello AL13NV8D3R,

The driveshaft seems to lag behind my decision to slow the car. So as I come to a stop there is a final thud once forward motion is at 0mph. Is that a normal action? This thing has 42K. Beginning to want my Benz back
