You can't buy it from my dealer as they only do local business. But I would contact a couple of Lexus dealerships within driving distance and ask to speak to the Finance and Insurance manager. Tell him (or her) your situation and that you "understand that it might be possible to purchase the Lexus used car platinum warranty".

I purchased from a MBZ dealer. The local Lexus dealer had/has a similar vehicle that is a year newer with 32k miles with CPO for $3k more. However, it was Starfire with the parchment interior, which I wasnt fond of.

Yes. Its possible to get Lexus factory warranty(above 60K) for cars which are out of warranty. Go and talk to lexus dealer in your area. All they do is 160 point check. If it passes they do offer competitive prices.
I got a used car from ACURA dealer and it passed 160 point check and Lexus dealer offered a Lexus platinum warranty for 4yrs/60K @ 2.5K $ and 0$ deductible for IS 250 AWD valid nationwide in USA and in canada also.

That's weird. I got my used 2009 LS 460 from a Cadillac dealership. I called my local Lexus dealership and the Finance Manager told me it is standard Lexus policy for any Lexus dealer to only offer their Lexus used car warranties to people who buy used vehicles from a Lexus dealership. He did say some Lexus dealerships may offer used car warranties from third parties. However your experience seems to directly contradict what this Finance Manager said. Interesting.

What dealership gave you a Platinum warranty for a vehicle NOT purchased from them and was out of the original warranty?
Thanks.

Troy (Toyota of Greenfield) can't sell you a Lexus extended warranty unless the car is still under the original manufacturers warranty. However, try a different Lexus dealership finance manager - several of us have got the Lexus platinum extended warranty in your situation.

sktn77a, I've called two Lexus dealerships so far in my area and both of them said they can't give me a warranty since I didn't buy my car from them. One of them said it is standard Lexus policy, which apparently is not true.

Ive been looking for 10 ls460 and called my dealership about an extended and platinum vsa. he said he will sell me a vsa as long as i have an inspection from my state, i told him that i thought you had to buy it at the dealer when you buy the car, and he said thats what they say online but he dealer will still sell it to you, and its basically the same price as the extended 4/50 warranty. just call a dealer in your state and speak to the finance services.
