Front Break pad / caliper pins and their mounting/secure attachment to caliper, Help
Hello,
I did a break job for the front for my 2007 LS460, put in some ceramic pads, however when I was re installing the two pins that get mounted on each caliper and hold the pads in place, I noticed that the pins do not really get banged into the caliper so they sit very tightly inside, I hammered them in, but I still noticed that they are fairly loose, and it looks as if they can slide out of the caliper due to simple road vibrations. I understand the vertical flex metal clip also sort of holds the pins in place, since the pins go through that piece of flex metal, but it seems as if its not enough.
I know my S class , when you bang the pins back in their place, they sit very tightly, and unless you bang them out with a hammer they will not slide out, or come out by themselves.
My lexus pins seem fairly loose, are they supposed to sit very tightly ? Because even after banging them in, I can still slide them around with my bare fingers.
Thank you very very much gentlemen,.
I truly appreciate any help on this matter,
BEst regards,
Alex

On every ls460 ever made. From the front to the back there are three pieces of medal holding the two slide pins.
PER CALIPER. THREE PIECES OF METAL PER CALIPER. Not counting pins
.
One clip at the tip of each pin that slide in perpendicular inside holes. And the other on the bottom pin to hold the pads down from shifting around.
Have a good day.
