Unhappy Disgruntled Brake Guide Pins? ..pics

Had my calipers powder-coated and had to removed the 4 guide pins that sits in the caliper mounting bracket. They are spring devices that line the pads into the seat correctly.

For some reason, the back 2 guide pins on all of the mounting brackets, fit way too tight. Waayy too tight.

I dont remember this ever being this way...

Has anyone else experienced this?

guide pins or clips??

the hardware/fitting kit that clips onto the caliper bracket where teh pads slide into are supposed to be a very snug fit... but the pads should still slide freely...

the slider pins that go into the caliper require regular servicing... and if the inside of teh caliper is powder coated, it may be too think for the slider to work properly...

They are more similar to clips.

This is what I was afraid of. I believe I may just need a new set as they do not slide freely anymore.

Before reinstalling the brake pad, most people don't realized that a little synthetic grease should be dabbed on the clip/bracket so that the pads could freely move around when you apply the brake and let off.
