Flat tire due to rim corrosion. Will it be covered under CPO warranty?
I did some searching and found that people got their rims replaced by the dealer for rim corrosion. But I took my car to Longo where I purchased my CPO 4 months ago, and they informed me that it wasn't covered under warranty. Any thoughts on this?
I'm a bit confused with whats covered. Under the warranty it says rust and corrosion is not covered but what is the Corrosion Perforation Warranty then?

Maybe goodwill fix, however, for the warranty to cover it you would have to prove where the rim was actually defective. Salt on roadways, living or frequent visits to areas where salt water bodies of water are present would or could cause the corrosion. Lexus standard rims are usually aluminum alloy and would not corrode. If you bought Lexus manufactured chrome rims the above might apply. If it is aftermarket, no way.

I had Lexus chrome wheels on a 2002 LS. After about 6 years the chrome started peeling off and the tire did not make proper contact with the rim. That led to air constantly leaking out. I was told by Costco (I use them for replacement tires) that this is a common problem with Lexus chromed rims. They had to put some kind of substance on the rim and then remount the tire. I am assuming that substance was some kind of adhesive. That fixed the problem. When you remove the tire you can see where the chrome is coming off. Even though it doesn't look like very much has come off that is enough for the tire not to make a good seal with the rim.
I can't speak to whether it's covered under a CPO warranty as my car was long past it's in service date by then.
As for me -- I won't be buying chromed wheels anytime soon.
