OUCH!!

You can get the entire set on Ebay for 350 dollars wiith a warranty - all six parts.

Aftermarket parts, and a "warranty" offered by somebody who talks like this:

We do this business for than 20 years. We do our research and experience before list items. There is very rare chance of having any mistake, but we still accept return item if there have manufacture defects or mistake have done by us, and then we do guarantee full refund or resend new item.
I'd rather pay Sewell $2,000 for real OEM parts with a warranty from a legitimate source.

Fair enough. If you don't like that vendor, select another that speaks better English.

The link I provided was just a reference, There are many others with similar prices and operating in the US. Saving 2000 dollars by buying aftermarket is a risk I'm willing to take.....if you can call it a risk. In the rare chance I get a crap batch of parts, I can have them replaced 3 times by a shop while I sip Coronas in Playa Del Carmen with the money I saved.

As for Sewell's "warranty", it only applies to parts when INSTALLED by a Lexus dealer.....for 12 months. Hardly a sounding endorsement for the quality of OEM parts......which already failed prematurely, based on the scads of members here replacing them.

I decided to go the inexpensive route and purchase the control arms off eBay because of the amount of miles I have on my LS and the number of times they have been replaced. I have put 24K miles (almost all highway) on the car since they were installed and as of recent the arms have started that banging noise. Great at first, but short lived.

Final Questions: I am purchasing all the parts from Sewell Lexus. My choice.
First question: Do you need to replace all 8 control arms or only six. Second question: I called Northside Lexus in Houston for a quote. $6500. Lady said they quoted someone with a 2008 LS this price. We confirmed all the control arms except the final two. She said they quoted part numbers 48620-59055 and 48640-59045. These are listed on the 2013 LS. Part numbers for 2007 are 48620-59015, 48640-59015. Which ones do I buy? Has anyone used the 2013 parts for their cars? Will they fit my 07 LS? Are these the upgraded ones?
I am getting ready to order parts. Any help would be appreciated. By the way Northside Lexus wanted $4000 parts and $2500 labor. Unbelievable.

All 6 parts to replace are listed on page 10 of this thread.
Those were the ones listed for me by the dealer for my 2008.
They are the upgraded models.

jbrittmart - the ones on page 10 are the ones that I copied. Those were confirmed by the service gal at Northside Lexus. But I was told that there are 8 control arms. And they listed the two 2013 parts number control arms too. Do order those too?

Sorry, I can't help there.
I only replaced the 6 parts listed there per the dealership.

Anybody ever have issues with the Lexus extended warranty getting these done if you have 22s and you're lowered? I'm on stock air suspension so that can be easily changed, but I don't have the stock wheels anymore. I'm debating on buying the extended warranty just in case I have this issue, but I don't want to waste my money if the dealer will blame the bad control arms on my wheels and then end up not covering it.

As discussed on other threads, control arms are known issues and have been replaced on non modified vehicles way more than modded ones. You should always keep your stock wheels (my opinion) because although I know they can't blame my wheels for most failures, I bring my car in for warranty service on oem wheels and normal suspension setting whenever getting work on drivetrain or suspension

There are indeed eight control arms total. The two not shown on the ebay pic are the lower forward ones which are black painted steel. They control the fore-aft forces on the front suspension. When I replaced all eight arms with oem parts, the only really bad one was the right side steel front lower. That bushing was badly torn.

I think the bushings in these steel arms are often missed on inspections because they are covered by an under car shield. You have to remove this shield and use a pry bar to check this bushing.
