08 LS460, No sound Nav or Stereo
I have lost all audio from the Stereo and Navigation in my 08 Lexus LS460. It has the Mark Levinson system and nothing has been done to alter the stock setup and it has been working fine until now.
On the audio settings screen, the treble and bass settings have set themselves all the way to the max and are not adjustable. Also, the other setting for focusing the sound is stuck on the rear back corner of the cabin. The screen registers being touched but the settings will not adjust.
All other screen functions are working normally.
Thank you in advance for any help with this.

I am not sure what the audio screen on the nav looks like when your amp dies, but if your not getting any sound, more than likely your ML audio amplifier has died. That is a very common component to fail on the LS460s, your dealer should be able to replace it for you under warranty, its located in the trunk, next to your spare on the passenger side. Its about an hour to have them replace it with a new one.

If it happens to be the amplifier and you're out of warranty, I want you to know that one of your options is to fix it and not replace it with a new one for $1,000+.
Search the forum and you'll find a thread where this particular point is throughly discussed. As for the symptoms you listed, I'm not sure what they mean but if hands-free phone is also not working then it's most likely the amplifier.

I have read the many posts regarding the amp failure. Did anyone have issues with the sound adjustment screen when their amp quit working? Also, did the nav sound stop as well?

All audio goes through ML amp this includes nav....3 options are repair replace or upgrade to aftermarket....none of the options are cheap but one thing is for sure ML amps ate known for dying so buying one used isn't recommended

It's pretty straight forward an amp in protection mode produces no sound....but malfunctioning in the nav unit is another issue....radios are all sensitive to voltage changes and this is typically what causes malfunctioning in head units....amp is separate in this case
