Default HAs anyone had the clear shield added to the "door cups"

Hey guys I just had the clear shield on my car redone on the hood ( installer error) and has the mirrors and door edges redone because they were turning yellow. While I was there my service rep said I should have the door cups done as well to protect the door cups from scratches from finger nails as the door are opened. I had them done and can't stand the way they look. I am taking the car in on Monday just to get them taken off. I don't have long finger nails and hate the fact that there is the added appearance of something in the door cup when there were no previous scratches. The piece added had to be cut in each corner ( from the outside in) to make the flat piece fit in a rounded area. The issue is the breaks or cuts in the material produces more of an obvious mark or blemish than any of the non existent scratches. Do we have other members who have the door cups done or have had them removed?????

We have them on our LS 430. I guess they were part of the package when we had the film installed in October 2008. Truthfully, I don't even notice them anymore.

I dropped the car off today to have them removed. I feel like to prevent scratches in a place I have never had scratches before they had to put in a film that makes it look like there are scratches.

I told this to my service advisor and he said just do it. I had a feeling even before that I wasnt going to like it. Now its going to cost me a little to remove it. I dont care I just want the car in perfect shape. I am so busy with 6 days a week at work and a move and a little 7 month old baby girl. I need some sleep.lol

I think they are. I am having them replace the gel pad for the wiper sensors and a new battery in my key fob as well as the removal of the door cups and they are going to charge me $160 so I was assuming that some of that is from the door cups. Maybe not
