Default 2010 Transmission Flare

Hey guys, I recall reading that a minority of people have experienced some sort of transmission flare for which there is a TSIB. After 6,000 miles, my 2010 AWD is experiencing a pretty consistent flare in 1st or 2nd gear around 2000 rpm. Around that rpm, it will shoot to 2500 rpm before shifting to the next gear. I wonder if there is a TSIB for 2010 models?

Also, for the first time this morning, I heard the brake actuator noise. I've never heard it before, and I often drive with the radio off. Perhaps it was discernable because it's the first cold morning my car has experienced?

First I heard about a transmission flare in the 2010's. Luckily my car isn't experiencing that with 12K+ miles on it.

Regarding the brake actuator noise, I had it and had the actuator replaced and is now totally quiet. Interesingly, we just had my wife's Camry XLE brake actuator replaced because of a repetitive noise. I guess Toyota strives for consistency across their product lines.

Default Brake Actuator Noise

My '08 LS460L had a persisting clicking noise coming from the firewall area, near the brake pedal. Most noticeable just before the car would come to a stop. They replaced the actuator and it was fine for about 5K miles and it came back. This time, they ordered a "champion" part from Japan. I was told it was "hand made" to exact specifications. It's been in there now for about 15K miles and never makes a noise.
What is "transmission flare?"

My '08 LS had what I called transmission flare, but it wasn't a true increase in rpms ... it just refused to shift on up for a second or two and the engine seemed to rev freely in between the gears.

The techs at my dealership just smiled and told me (with a noticeable smirk) that's Lexus' "intelligent" transmission logic. The implication was that they didn't think it was very intelligent, either.

Default Transmission flare

Yeah, mine has done that a few times as well, but not enough to bother me.

I have the same issue with the brake noise also since new. The noise is not from the caliper/pads/rotors for sure. It sounds like the noise is coming from a hydraulic device (master cylinder? power brake booster?), or maybe a pocket of air in the device and I and duplicate it while it is parked and in idle.

I complaint this to the dealership but they always tell me there is nothing wrong and the noise is normal. It is the same noise happend to my Rx400h and I think I am getting used to it.

Well...
