Post lumbar support,nonworking,drivers side;suggestions needed

2007 LS460 drivers side lumbar support makes noise when 4way button is pressed, but does not inflate(provide any additional support). Dealer service manager called mechanic in shop, described problem; mechanic (without ever looking at seat)said must replace entire seat for around $2000.

Any more cost effective solutions or things that I can check?? Any specific repair shop rec for the Dallas/Ft Worth area that can address the issue without replacing entire seat? Thank you

IF your CPO or still under warranty then its covered, I have had mine replaced twice in just 65,000 miles and its an 07 and btw they replaced the lumbar support NOT the whole seat.

My driver side and passenger side lumbar support died, i thought it was a waste of money to fix it but it actually caused me bad back pain after 5 hours to chicago drive. The pain is there after a long time and iam only 19.
Lexus will fix it under warranty and if out of warranty, you are looking at about 1200 per lumbar replacement from dealer, thats what they showed me in the bill

I had the same issue with the lumbar but on the passenger side and it was fixed under warranty. They didnt replace the seat. The remove the rear face of the seat and just replace the little compressor or pump for the lumbar

Same here, lumber support for my passenger seat sounds like working normally but it does not inflate/deflate. Did anyone atempt DIY? Is this the motor behind the back cover?

Appreciate any help in advance!

Take the back cover off the seat. Sometime the cables comes off.

from what the tech told me they did replace the compressor, but that its easy to remove the back of the chair. It could be a wire issue but considering how common this issue I think its the compressor

Default Motor

Thank you all for the help!!! I took the back off and found a motor that pulls a metal cable that moves the lumber support mechanism. The motor was spinning without moving the cable. Took the motor out, took it apart and plastic gears were toast!!! Replacement part is $277 at lexus of Pembroke Pines web site. I am out of warranty...
