2007 Lexus LS460 Sirius/XM Question...
I'm getting ready to purchase a 2007 LS460. My question is I know that the LS comes standard with XM Radio/NavTraffic. With the recent merger with Sirius can I sign up for Sirius or XM or do I sign up with XM directly?
I current have Sirius in my GS400 and just wanted to add the LS460 to my existing account but since the LS has XM equipment I'm thinking that it cannot be connected to Sirius' network and that I will need to activate through XM's network.
Thanks for any feeback.

LOL...agreed on the XM. I've always been pro Sirius as you can tell by the avatar. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I'm sure I will have to get XM service with "the best of Sirius" and XM Navtraffic. It will be also interesting to see if they will try and screw me over on price since really this should be an additional subscriber under my current account.

Melymel96,
I totally feel your pain!! I too am a lifetime Sirius subscriber, and this was almost a dealbreaker for me at the time. Through VAIS Technologies (a sponsor vendor of this forum) I was able to disconnect the XM receiver (on the right side of the trunk under the covering) and buy a converter and universal Sirius receiver. The kit came with an antenna converter too so the sharkfin antenna works for my Sirius setup. I was then able to transfer my account over to the new equipment so I'm good to go. Not sure if you're willing to go to all the trouble, but the merger had not taken place when I purchased my LS.
Good luck, and let me know if you have any further questions.

Pole Position
Unbeknownst to me, the car I purchased had lifetime XM already on it. However, I haven't been too impressed with XM up to now, so it's a redundant feature for the most part. The only time the music is half decent is late nights on weekends. That's when their higher paid DJs come in I guess...

HA! Sirius vs. XM it's almost like Yankees vs. Red Sox!

You won't get a discount from Sirius that will apply to the XM service in the Lexus. I have Sirius in my BMW X5 and XM in my LS 460. Two seperate accounts and I think it's shady they don't offer a discount for a second radio. They haven't merged their billing...
