The orange light that says Air Bag "ON" or "OFF" in my car lits to "ON" when a passenger is sitting on the passenger side.

The light that says "OFF" never lits. My question is if without a passenger that light should be lit. Also, when a passenger is in the car and the Air Bag orange light is "ON" can I manually turn it to "OFF"? How?

I'm talking about the light at the center console to the right of the outside temp digits, in cars equipped with nav.

on older lexus models, ie. my 2004 RX330, their is no light that says airbag ON. Instead, it only lights up to say Airbag OFF, and i prefer it that way. However, it changes depending on the weight, seat position, and seat belt of the passenger.

It might as well employ without a passenger, you never know. I dont think you ever want it off. To get it off, you just need to place something of relative weight ontop of the airbag release area. lol

Well never mind my question. I just found out that if the passenger seat is reclined all the way and the seatbelt is buckled the airbag "OFF" light comes on. Once the seat is in proper position it switches to "ON". When there is no passenger none of the lights are on.
