Sensitive throttle?

With that much power/torque and 8 gears it's going to take off quickly when you press the throttle. You are going to have to practice being very gentle with the pedal if you don't want the car to leap forward.

I don't know whether to believe them or not but I guess it is possible. If so, they need to tune up the time delay of going back into gear.

It's slight, but I guess Lexus decided it was worth introducing the jump start problem.
Since it's all software, it would be nice (and easy for Lexus) if car manufactures would make things like there options that you can select.

This approach is true, the car shifts to neutral if stopped for a while in D. I think that's a neat feature for when you're in heavy traffic, because all you have to do to start moving slowly is to lift the foot off the brake pedal.
On non-heavy traffic situations it can get a little annoying but I believe Lexus will come up with a solution (software) soon and probably by the time you turn it in for 5,000mi service they might had figured it out.

So what seems to be happening is if the foot comes off the brake onto the gas, the rpms are rising before the car has even gone from neutral into gear. Yes, there's no way that would be smooth. Imagine doing that manually. Stick tranny in 'N', press on gas, and pull tranny lever down to D.

I filed a complaint both on phone and by email about this delay on acceleration. Anybody else that has this complaint for the 460L , please do the same. My understanding is that these car manufacturers base their actions on statistics of occurrences. If you want this problem fixed, they have to hear from you.
