Default Reviews on handling?

There seems to be very little comments on handling in most of the reviews. I was hoping that it would be closer to the BMW, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

There are some good comments in the About.com review as well:

I don't expect it to be a Ferrari but I am sure Lexus tuned it to handle better due to previous comments on the last LS.

However still don't expect a canyon carver!

Default Handling

After reading all the reviews including Motor trends, it is apparent that the handing, and braking is not in the same class as the Euros BMW, M etc.

Well there's no way Lexus will ever make the LS handle like an M. Still Motor Trend had a good impression, it seems:

They called it fun, and said the car seemed to shrink in size at higher speeds. They said it "attacks...every bit as willingly [as a BMW]."

I've never owned a Lexus. Are you saying that Lexus owners have been
dissatisfied with the handling?

I HAVE owned three MB. Bought them when I had a business. (Old and
retired now.) I thought they rode and drove like small trucks, but bought them
because I vainly thought their image helped my business. It probably did.

HOWEVER, I NEVER liked the way they rode or handled! Their rides were stiff
and the handling was "heavy." Almost didn't think you had power steering. In
my C6, I expect stiff "sport" handling. In a luxury car, I don't like it.

Well Jimm this is the paradox. People have complained about the LS handling, mostly reviwers who don't own the car. THey drive it for 30 min and say it doesn't handle well, driving the snot out of it at the track, where 99.9% of LS owners don't drive.

So no, it doesn't handle as well.

In daily situations, the car handles just fine. I will say there is a certain disconnnect from the steering wheel to the driver in Lexus cars. BMW in general has that down. I've added ECUs to my GS and it still isn't the same. IMO, the IS 350/250 has the best feedback and steering of any Lexus and its still a lil vague.

Thing is in normal driving, its FINE. Taking a corner at twice the speed limit, yeah, its not 100% confidence inspiring.

I find Benz steering to be tighter than Lexus but with the same less feedback than a BMW and I don't really like it much.

expecting lexus to handle like anything close to bmw is just a wrongful dream from the beginning. personally i WISH lexus could handle like bmw as well, but reality is i know they will never do. part of the reason why i mod my lexus anyway so i can gain that little bit closer in difference.

like mike said, handling will be better on the new LS i am sure, comparing to the old one, but "euro" like? i don't think so
