Price...
We have all seen the great features of this new beauty. (Future LS) I am looking into it, because it looks like a PHENOMENAL car, which it is. I am just really confused on the pricing. I hope it stays in the same range, because that is where the LS best fits. Even if its just the LS460, it would give Merc great competition. But how much would the highest model be... (LS600h). Im confused on it... If anyone has info or comments please post

I think the LS460 will likely start around $60K+, & go up to about low $70K's loaded, & there will probably be ~$10K+ premium (I hope ) for the LS600h, possibly with LWB as standard . . .

yeah there will definitely be market for the ls460. in fact, i believe that will be best selling LS of all model and lineup. just look at the s class, you see tons of s430 around, some s500, and very few s600. that's the same mindset for the LS too. a lot of people will just want the LS, they dont' care about performance so they don't see the extra money over the normal ls460

I understand that perspective but there is something different. S430 is about $70,000. S500 is not 80 it is more like $90,000. And with that im talking base... The prices im saying is probably wrong so dont just look at that. And then S600 is $128,000 base... So S430 is basically LS430, in this case LS460. And S600 is basically LS600h. The thing is with Mercedes the difference is 50,000. With lexus it is $10,000. DO you guys get what im saying. Im saying it is much more Affordable to go with an LS600h over the LS460, then it is to go for an LS600 over the S430

yup i know what you talking about. but look at the gs. the gs300 and the gs430 is about 10k apart at most, and you see tons more gs300 out there than gs430. with 50k price difference of course it's like a no brainer, but even with 10k difference, believe it or not, you already get a lot of people keeping that extra cash
so say the ls460 base be around 60k, loaded be around 70k, and the ls600h be around 85k (again, just guess ), that's big enough of a difference for people to make the call

PS ANOTHER BIG QUESTION::: Anybody know on tax rebates for the LS600h. I know the RX400h had $2,000 off the first year

Lexus Test Driver
mistake!
This is not good for LEXUS followers like myself. Change is only good when needed,Lexus is so busy trying to compete with Mercedes and BMW and Jaguar they forgot why we all like this car. This car may I remind Lexus, is probably the only Japanese car mentioned in America as a Luxury car that competes with the big 3 I named earlier. I will not under any conditions pay Mercedes money for a car (LS Model) . I came to Lexus to avoid that high pricing thing the big 3 do. I know i'll recieve alot of negative replies to my post but I don't care it's my opinion. And part of my opinion is Lexus is getting greedy. As there growing there becoming more Like Mercedes and the other big 3. Complaints have went up and now prices are also. This is like McDonalds making a bigger french fry, like the width of ore ida french fries. When it's good why change your formula for success. I can see already my last Lexus will be the LS 430 I have now . Am I the only one who has noticed that the price gap in cars is closing. The only thing about Lexus that needs changing for the better with all due respect is the designs of the cars. I love the quality of the Lexus and have seen it slip in the last 5 years as they have updated there cars to so-called compete with the big 3 (mainly mercedes). The thing is every Benz owner I know, including me has dicovered Lexus and left benz. there is no competion, Lexus wins hands down they just haven't got the memo. Also Im not in my 60's so it's not a age thing I just turned 32 and like the pricing of the car the way it is, way below mercedes. GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME

I understand that Lexus is getting greedy. But in my opinion they are not. Take a look usermel at the LS460 and the LS600h. The LS460 is an extra 3.0 liter engine with better engine specs, over 300 hp, and a complete redesign. The features in the car is set to RISE tremendously, and will offer a lot more standard features, maybe a navigation standard like the LX470. The current price is $55,000 base, so now it might be $56-58,000 base, which in my book is reasonable because of the new features, style, and performance. Now the LS600h is competing with the S600 and the 760iL. Those if you take a look at START at $130,000. Now see the LS600h. We are talking about $80,000 - $85,000 base. Now see the difference. That is a whopping $50,000. Now that $50,000 can get you a whole new car. And since you are an LS430 owner Lexus is the most reliable out of the four. So I understand your opinion that Lexus is getting greedy, but the truth of the matter is that you cannot make 1.4L hybrids which are bigger than the original, with a ton of more features, making it performance, and expect the price to be $70,000 base. Take a look at the GS300 and GS430 success for the price range.
Another thought ather ClubLexus Members: Isnt the LS600h supposed to be total performance? If it is is it competiting with S55 AMG? Or is the LS600 an ordinary hybrid

Personally, I don't think the LS600h will be tuned as sporty as a S55 AMG, it will be closer to the S600 & more tuned for ride comfort, like a Lexus luxury sedan is supposed to be Just my opinion.

Another thing sparking in my mind is that, a lot of people into lexus are into luxury, features, and a lot are into style. Im just saying this on the top of my head but a lot will love to get a hybrid so they can say i have the future... LOL but i agree now

So do any of you know about tax incentives... If lexus, can get that, they could pull some more sales for the LS460h because of price, and it is TAX... great way to lure one in....
