Default Goodbye...Hello

So last week my much admired (base model) Black Cherry Pearl '05 LS430 got totaled in a freeway hit & run. Praise God the car didn't flip and I was able to walk away without a scratch, but not as much could be said for my cherished LS. The fella that side-swiped and sent me into a tailspin, then into a ditch must have been doing about 90mph.

Pics of the new ride coming next...

Default Pics of the replacement...

Anyway, fast forward just one week. This is my new 430. An '06 with the Modern Lux. Pkg. As several people have pointed out in other threads, 17" wheels (on my old LS) do make for a softer ride than the 18"s this one came with. But I'll tolerate it. I like the look of the 18"s much better. This being a Florida car, it's already going to be in better condition (underbody & suspension) than my old one. This weekend it's getting its baptism into Michigan winters (road-salt and all).

Glad I decided to ****** my brand new Curt trailer hitch off of it before winter (to avoid salt damage and early corrosion). I'm not sure it would have survived that hit. Now I won't have to get a new one.

Glad you're ok. Congrats on the new ride. It looks exactly like mine. How many miles are on it?

101k on the ODO. My 'deceased' LS had 114k.

No dice there. I'm just glad I didn't have a $1,000 deductible (like I used to in the past).

I'm curious how the insurance settlement worked out..... How much did the accident end up costing you to swap cars?

Let's just put it this way. I opted out of the GAP insurance when I originally financed the accident car...

Sorry to see that black cherry done like that. Safety is what matters. Cars can be replaced.

Hope that guy is caught and given what they deserve.

Love the new ride, 18's make such a difference in the look, therefore one might sacrifice the comfort.

So, what do you think about the base audio system vs the Mark Levinson system?
