Default cup holder won't close

Folks,

One of the two niggling things to fix is a cup holder than won't "latch" when closed.

It's the one in front, and the apparatus apparently folds up quite nicely, but won't "catch".

Is there a known fix for this? Or am I in uncharted territory.

Thanks!

Take the cup holder unit out and carefully examine the spring latch mechanism. There's a latch that is designed to swing around in a plastic lube'd groove. Perhaps the latch is not in the plastic groove. You'll have to remove the console trim around gear shift and the main (flat) wood console to get to the screws that hold the cup holder in place. There are CL threads for this DIY. Pretty easy.

My cupholder wouldn't stay closed and after following the instructions from the link in post #3 I was able to quickly see that a index card had fallen down inside by the cupholder closer and after removal the cupholder works.

Same here... I had a business card slip down and interfere enough to where it would not latch closed. I was able to fish it out without removing any trim.
