BTW, I had a friend who was tailing an '10 SS Camaro on a highway, my friend had the speed limit un-locked.
Don't know if he was telling truth or not. But the SS guy stopped him and asked him if he had any mods on his car, he didn't, he was driving an '05 bone stock LS430.
SS guy says he was going around ~170 mph, he had to open the road for the LS430 to come through.
Maybe it's just street talk, but the 3UZ-FE has got some life in yet no doubt.

This topic has come up before on this exact sub-forum.
Here's the thread.
The prevailing opinion is that the best way to defeat the speed limiter is a new ECU.
HKS makes a speed limit defeater but I don't believe it has been tested on an American spec LS430
If you get a new ECU, it's worth checking out Tom's Tuning Computer T.E.C.II

I road race an 06 Z06 and the most I've hit on a track is about 155. I've driven LS's for over 200k miles and there is no way I'd take one of these behemoths over 110. Different cars for different things.
