Default Difference in dealer's prices (parts)

Getting my parts together to change out my rear brakes, rotors, etc. My local Lexus dealer quoted $ 11.00 + tax (each) for the caliper bolts. Bought them online from Irontoad, which is Thompson Lexus in PA, for $ 4.80 each. Even with shipping charges, I saved $ 20.00.

Yup, some local dealers know they are competing with online sources will match or come pretty close. When I work up an order, the online shop has flat rate shipping so the deal becomes better the more ordered. That usually means north of $150 so it's like Costco. Can't get out without spending more than a C note.

That read like a weird mechanic commercial. I always source the parts myself. If a shop has a problem with that I move on and find another. No reason to pay that markup, especially for oem parts.
