Windshield replacement
I am in Toronto and am looking into replacing my windshield.
I was asked a question to which i did not know the answer, hoping someone can let me know.
Do you have a heated windshield?
The tech explained that the LS430 has a heated portion at the bottom of the windshield that has plumbing running through it under the cowling to melt Ice and Snow buildup. The plumbing uses the heat from the coolant.
This past winter has been brutal and I can say that I have never seen anything that would indicate that my lex has this feature.
The model year is 2002 with Navi, radar cruise and auto rain sensor (no rear cooler or AC and audio controls)
If this feature is built in, how is it activated?
Quoted by Speedy $500 non OEM

Was radar cruise available in Canada in '02? It was not in the US until a few months into the '04 model year.
Radar cruise has the plastic "shield" surrounding the Lexus "L" logo in the center of the grille and was only included with the Pre-Collision System option.
Laser cruise is identified by the "glass eye" in the passenger side of the lower front bumper, and was included on CL and UL cars without PCS (at least in the US).
It is more confusing that it should be because Lexus used the phrase "Radar ready" in the dash message for both systems.

It isn't in the option list for US cars, but I can believe that it is not absolutely complete.
Also, it isn't in the Canadian option list, either, so it remains a bit of a mystery to me.
I imagine that Sewell could possibly carry Canadian-only parts, but I have no knowledge of that.
Thanks for the input.

just had mine done a couple weeks ago, had the same question asked, the tech said it was a rear defroster style type most likely, usually not found on stuff outside of subarus he said.
